Stamp out Poverty!
THP anticipates raising another 5% to 10% extra this year in response
to rising fuel and food prices in Haiti. Want to help? Among other things,
we are in need of US postage stamps! Simple gifts of 37-cent stamps enable
THP to maintain daily communications with our support community at little
expense, freeing up more funds to be spent in Haiti. This is a great way to
keep our admin costs low and our operations high! Mail your extra stamps to:
THP Office of Development P.O. Box 8722, Rockford, Il 61126.
All Aboard!
The Haitian Project is pleased to announce the addition of 4 new Board Members!
The following new members joined the Board at the Annual Meeting in Providence,
RI on March 5th: George Ralph from Rockford, IL; Scott Hill from Rockford,
IL; Sandy Turner from Port-
land, OR; and Evelyn Couser from Portland, OR. Each member brings a wealth
of experience to his or her new role with the Project, as well as incredible
compassion and dedication to each student and to LCS. THP looks forward to
the years to come with this strong and dynamic board.
Hungry for
Haiti
Students from Boylan High School in Rockford, IL participated in a 30 hour
juice fast to raise support for The Haitian Project while learning about the
plight of hunger in the world. For the past 10 years, Boylan students have
willingly gone without so that others might have more. Campus Minister Matt
Schwartz says of the fast, "This is about students helping other students
receive a Catholic education. It teaches our students that Gospel values apply
across the world." Thank you, Boylan for your friendship to LCS!
