100%, 100%

One more reason to celebrate! We are pleased to announce that 100% of our students passed the Baccalaureate state exam this summer, keeping in Louverture Cleary's 100% passing rate tradition. In the midst of hardship last year, students were able to pull through with flying colors. We wish to congratulate the Louverturians on their success and thank members of the LCS staff for their support and commitment.

150 Years of Service

In October, the Moynihan family represented the THP community at the joyous celebration of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Xaverian Brothers' Mission in America. The celebration took place in Louisville, Kentucky, where the Brothers began their work in United States in 1854. Over the years the Xaverian Brothers have founded and operated schools from coast to coast. Today they sponsor and oversee eleven high schools. Their friendship and assistance has been so important to THP over the past 8 years that LCS could easily round the count to an even dozen. "It was a privilege to join those served by the Xaverian Community to honor the brothers for their perseverance and service," said THP President, Patrick Moynihan.

Not quite the Keynote, but still of note

For the second year, LCS has been a prominent feature at the Arlington Catholic Schools Conference. This year, assisted by sister-school Bishop Ireton teacher, Cathy Melanson, and four of her students -- Samantha Burns, Christina Hoffman, Mike Marquet and Sara Shanley -- who made the trip to the school this past summer, THP President, Patrick Moynihan, gave a breakout session titled "Solidarity: Faith in Participation." The students were impressive and inspiring as they testified to the benefits of making the trip and having their high school closely associated with LCS. Led by Board member and Development Committee Chair Sue Williams, the Arlington Alliance of schools continues to provide significant general support to the school as well as specific funding for our ongoing solar-ization project through "Pennies for Power."
