The Three Musketeers

Three visitors from Mt. Carroll, IL joined the Louverture Cleary community for four days this August. Lisa Jones, Judi Fitzpatrick and Herb Weinland traveled to Haiti with the dual purpose of creating a tie between Haiti missions and their parish—and making the first step to becoming facilitators for children adopted from the Sisters of Charity. Read more about their experience here.

Ou kab pale Kreyol?
August is a time of intensive language training for the year-long volunteers at Louverture Cleary. This summer, the class included a member from the Xavarian communitee as well. Jonathon Dohanich, a recent graduate of Pennsylvania State University, joined the LCS community for a week before he headed north to Hinch for a year of volunteer service for the Xavarian Brothers.

Scalabrinis and Louverturians unite
LCS welcomes 15 young men from the Scalabrini Seminary in Croix-des-Bouquets as students for the upcoming year. The young seminarians will be joining the Louverture Cleary community daily for class, meetings, prayer and clean-up, and will return to their own seminary community each night.
