Volunteer Mary DeAgostino (far left) accompanies Jules Jean-Anold (in green) at St. Francis de Sales Hospital in Port-au-Prince

We are all human beings and share the same planet. Even if we are black or white and live in different places, by essence we are all equals. Since we are all human, there should be a mutual relationship among us. Moreover, each of us should know well one’s fellow. Therefore, I am pleased to introduce myself to you.

My name is Jules Jean-Anold. I am the first-born of my family, and I live with my father and my step-mother at Routes-de-Fréres near Pétionville. I am in Philo Class, so this is my last year at secondary school.

I am at LCS to be well-educated and be ready to help my country and all of those who need me. Haiti needs graduates, people with diplomas who will actively rebuild this nation. Consequently, I want to go to university after my graduation this year and be a great doctor.

At school, we have a language program. The program encourages everyone to practice the language of the day---English, Spanish, French or Kreyol. I am the student head of this committee and work with others so that this program continues. I am also involved in community service work as a translator for foreign doctors and Haitian patients at St. Francis hospital. I also help patients going into surgery and take them back to their beds. I am the super-guide at LCS, which means I work with other guides (senior student leaders), monitors (junior student leaders), and the Direction (school administration) to plan things in the community.

In my free time at LCS, I supervise the study of younger students, pray with a school prayer group, and play soccer.  I play for our school team and the club team F.C. Pegasse.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your help and all your support for LCS. May God bless you.
