Double Thanks, Double Gifts & Double Graduates

The greatest thanks we can offer for your support is the gratitude and hard work of our students. During their seven years at the school, LCS students do an amazing amount of service, including maintaining the school, cleaning the neighborhood and teaching children from “zone” how to read, write and do mathematics. As alumni, they continue to serve in a broad array of ways, including tutoring secondary students and peers, serving in non-profit organizations, and providing financial support to their siblings from their earnings. LCS students not only say “Thanks” in their words; they say it again with their actions. This “Double Thanks” makes your support do double the good.

This brings to mind how so many of you respond to our thank you letters with yet another gift. “Double Gifts” are especially important this year. The difficult economic times have made it a bit harder to meet our budgetary needs. Your generous use of the envelope in the thank you letters has helped our mission continue unabated. It makes me smile each time I sign a second thank you letter to one of our many loyal donors. Double gifts are doubly good.

This year is also the first year for “Double Graduates!” The Class of 2009 is the first to graduate with two sections. This year’s class culminates a decade’s work to double the size of the school. All grade levels at LCS now have two sections. This is also doubly good!

Thanks, again!
