The Gift of an Education

I'd like to take a moment to share with you just how much I enjoy writing these updates. As I write them it's a great time to think of all of you and this great community of support. With the first round of exams completed and the school on Christmas break, we'll take a break from the updates, however, until the return to classes the week of January 16th—I look forward to bringing you more news then. It's always a joy to share about the work of our mission, and especially about our work in education—one of the most valuable gifts a person can have. In the meantime, I'm wishing you all a Holy and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

In this season's where we annually watch It's a Wonderful Life here are some alternatives to that standard that you might enjoy:

Over the years THP has benefited greatly from the talent of some excellent film artists who have captured some of our students, Volunteers and community on video. Thanks to the work of Eric Groth & Big Grin Studios, Inc. and that of Michelle C. Lee, you can see the mission of The Haitian Project at work in these videos.

To view three of these videos, highlighting the work of our graduates, the significance of our Volunteers, and the expansion of our community outreach, please visit our website's video page. Each of these videos is between 8 and 13 minutes long.

But before you grab the popcorn, consider some last minute Christmas shopping. I'd like to propose a gift that can't go wrong: the gift of an education. In remembering the meaning of Christmas, the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, I reflect on his life of service and sacrifice to others. So, it would only seem appropriate to imitate those actions. In place of a sweater or hip gadget that is soon to be out dated, think about supporting the students of Louverture Cleary School in someone's honor.

To do so,  just print out the attached form, or download the form found here on our website.

Your gift will count double. Not only will it bring a smile to someone's face but also give an education to those who need it most and will use it to continue to provide service to others.

Peace,

Patrick
