In Loving Memory

Some of these pictures shared date back to 1998 as they were the students’ application photos for LCS.

As I participated in the process of gathering the photos for this memorial, I was touched by memories of recruiting a number of these alums. As soon as I saw Ruth's application picture from when she first entered LCS in 1998, memories flooded my mind and heart--bittersweet to be sure. What a joy to have known someone so wonderful, what a pity for us to have lost her so young. This is true for each of the seven LCS grads who perished in the quake.

Today, four months after what will be an ever remembered fateful day, we call to mind the following seven grads, who we knew as students, friends and family:

Forde Marin (’98) was head librarian at LCS from 2004-2009. He led the victorious student debate team, and after leaving LCS in 2009, he was studying to be a minister at his church.

Gesline Laguerre (’09) was an avid soccer player during her years at LCS. Dieudonne Lofficial (LCS administrative staff member) described her as a great friend. Gesline was studying educational administration at university.

Berkely Pierre and Ruth Alcenat graduated together in ’06. They were both studying applied linguistics at university. Berkely has a younger sister currently in sekond class (11th grade) at LCS.

Ismaël Gerlus (’08) was quiet and studious during his years at LCS. He was studying modern languages at university.

Marie Gabrielle Pierre (’02) was described by Dieudonne Lofficial as being “brilliant, second or third in her graduating class.” She was studying administrative sciences at university.

Sabrina Louis Jeune (’08) was studying nursing at university. According to Barbara Jean Paul (current Junior Staff member), “Sabrina loved practicing dances when she was an LCS student.” Sabrina has a younger brother currently in sekond class at LCS.

May the souls of these dearly departed rest in peace.

Peace,

Patrick
